Service Update: SMART resumes limited emergency service

Monday, October 9, 2017 - 1:50pm
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) will offer limited emergency service between downtown Santa Rosa and downtown San Rafael today, October 9. SMART inspected tracks and equipment and will begin limited service at 2:31 p.m. from the Santa Rosa downtown station to downtown San Rafael, serving all stations in between. Trains will run both southbound and northbound. (See schedule below).

SMART will offer its service free of charge today to assist those in the area who need transportation and will be running three-car trains for maximum capacity.

Due to poor visibility caused by heavy smoke and other fire conditions, SMART will take all safety precautions, including using the train safety horn at all crossings. SMART will continue to monitor fire conditions and make any necessary adjustments.

SMART is working to restore full service as soon as possible, please check SMART’s website at www.SonomaMarinTrain.org for service updates.
